Lisieux Convent Teacher Training Institute (L.C.T.T.I) was established in the year of 1954 with an important objective to bring out service oriented; value based teachers and thus builds up a good society. This prestigious institution was inaugurated associating with Little Flower Convent Girls High School on 28/06/1954. Initially the TTI Classes of Basic Training School were conducted in the Providence Home Irinjalakuda, until the building works of the institution were completed. Then L.C.T.T.I was shifted to Kattungachira on 01/06/1964. It is started to function as a residential institute. Later as per the instruction given by N.C.T.E, a new building providing 10 sq.m. Space per each student was inaugurated in the year 2000.Now TTC course is renamed as Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed).The duration of the course is 2 years, with 4 Semesters. Currently 66 seats are available for D.El.Ed in this institute. L.C.T.T.I is now known by the name L.C.I.T.E. (Lisieux Convent Institute of Teacher Education).This aided institute has been recognized by the N.C.T.E and is organized and managed by C.M.C Udaya Province Irinjalakuda, a religious institute of pontifical right for women in the Syro Malabar Church.
